ViRey — Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 28 October 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and RED AND DAD VENTURES, a partnership firm at 9th floor, FLAT 904 SR. NO 42/2, DWARKA SAI, COMMERCIAL WING, Kalewadi Rahatani Road, Godambe Chowk, Rahatani, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra 411017 ("ViRey", "we", "us"). They cover the ViRey™ app and virey.in.
By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use ViRey.
2. You must be 18
ViRey is for adults. By using it you confirm you are 18 or older.
3. What ViRey is
ViRey helps you keep a record of the things you own. You add an item by photographing its bill or the item itself; we read the details and keep the document for you. ViRey estimates what each item is worth, reminds you when warranties end, and, if you decide to sell, helps you write a listing, share it, publish it on virey.in and hear from people who want to buy it.
ViRey is a platform that connects people selling their own belongings with people who want to buy them. We are not a party to any sale. The price, condition, payment and handover are agreed between buyer and seller. We do not own, stock, inspect, buy, sell, value professionally, insure, repair or deliver anything listed, and we do not take or hold payment for any sale.
ViRey is for individuals selling their own personal belongings — not for businesses, shops or dealers selling stock.
4. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. Your ViRey account — your homes, items, documents and item balance — belongs to the Google account you signed in with. If that Google account's email address changes, your ViRey account follows it.
Moving to a different Google account. Where the app offers Settings → Move to another Google account, you can sign in with the new Google account and confirm; everything moves with it, including your unused items, and the old Google account is no longer linked. You cannot move into a Google account that already has a ViRey account.
Keep your Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at virey@redndad.com if you think someone else has access.
5. What you add
You keep ownership of everything you add. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to provide ViRey to you — including sending it to our AI service to be read, as the Privacy Policy explains.
You must not add or publish anything that:
- you have no right to share, or that belongs to someone else;
- contains other people's personal details you have no reason to hold;
- is obscene, harmful to children, defamatory, hateful, or invades someone's privacy;
- infringes a trade mark, copyright or other right;
- is false or misleading, or impersonates someone;
- contains viruses or code meant to harm systems;
- breaks any law in force in India, or threatens India's unity, security or public order.
We may remove content that breaks these rules.
We do not use your documents or photographs to train AI models. To read them we use Google's Gemini service on a paid plan, under terms that do not let Google use them to improve its products.
6. Items, freemium items, basic items and packs
6.1 What an item is
When ViRey reads a bill or photo and adds a product to your home for you, that uses one item from your balance. Adding things by typing them in yourself is unlimited and free, always.
- Freemium items — the first 3 items every new account gets free. They work exactly like items from a pack.
- Basic items — products you add by hand, and products whose pack Google refunded (6.4). They are free and unlimited, with the features in the left-hand column of 6.1a.
How items are counted:
- One product = one item. A bill with three products can add three items.
- You choose what to add. After a bill is read, ViRey shows each product it found, one at a time. An item is used only for each product you add. A product you skip, or a read that fails, costs nothing.
- Several of the same product on one bill line (two identical air conditioners, say) is one item, saved with a quantity of 2.
- Accessories and consumables on the same bill (a stand, a cover, a cable) stay with the main product and use no item of their own.
- Up to 3 photos of the same product count as one item.
- If a bill has more products than you have items left, ViRey still reads it. You add as many as your balance allows; the rest wait under "Bill waiting for review" until you buy a pack.
More items come in packs of 10, 25 or 50 through Google Play. Freemium items are used first, then your oldest pack.
6.1a What basic items include, and what an item adds
| Basic items — added by hand, free | Added from a bill — uses 1 item | |
|---|---|---|
| In your list and household total | ✓ | ✓ |
| Worth today | A range, based on what you told us you paid | A figure, with its range |
| Worth next year | — | ✓ |
| "Purchase verified" on what you share | — | ✓ |
| The bill kept for you | — | ✓ |
| Warranty countdown and reminders | — | ✓ |
| Writing a listing and sharing it to sell | ✓ | ✓, with the details from your bill |
| Photos for your listing | Up to 3, standard quality | Up to 6, Full HD |
You can turn a basic item into one added from a bill at any time with "Add the bill to this item", which uses 1 item. A product added from a photo instead of a bill gets everything in the right-hand column except "Purchase verified". Adding the bill to a product that has already used an item costs nothing.
Changes to features. We may add features, and we may change or remove features that no longer serve their purpose. Before we remove a feature from items you have already added from a bill, we will run a poll or survey for at least 2 weeks in the app and by email, publish the results on virey.in, take them into account, and give you 30 days' notice. If the feature removed is part of what a paid item gives, you may ask for a refund of your unused paid items during the notice period.
There is no subscription and nothing else to buy in this part of ViRey — only packs of items.
6.2 The rules of a pack (also shown on the purchase screen)
- Items never expire while your account exists. If you delete your account, see 6.5.
- Freemium items are used first, then your oldest pack.
- One product = one item, used only when you choose to add it.
- Items cannot be transferred to another person or another ViRey account.
- Items have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, except through the refunds in 6.4 and 6.5.
- Items can only be used within ViRey. They cannot be used to pay anyone.
- Within 30 days of buying, you can refund a pack from the app — in full if you have not used it, or minus the items you used.
- Launch prices are introductory and end on 31 December 2026 (6.6).
6.3 Paying
Packs are bought through Google Play, which handles payment. We never see your card or UPI details. Google's terms apply to the payment. Prices include GST.
6.4 Refunds
- When Google refunds a pack — you can ask Google within 48 hours of buying, and Google decides; Google may also reverse a payment later, for example after a bank dispute — the unused items from that pack are removed, and products already added with it become basic items (6.1a). We tell you the next time you open the app. Their bills are locked for 30 days — kept, but not viewable, with the date shown on the lock — and then deleted.
- When you next buy a pack, we offer to upgrade those products back without adding them again. You see the list with a tick-box beside each and tick the ones you want, up to the items you have; or choose later, and each keeps an "Upgrade" option. Each upgrade uses 1 item; nothing is used unless you tick it. Within the 30 days the bill comes back; after that, the product gets everything except the stored bill and "Purchase verified".
- Within 30 days of buying, from the pack's "Refund this pack" button:
- a pack you have not started is refunded in full;
- a pack you have started is refunded minus the items you used, each at the price per item of the 10-item pack (never less than zero).
- Refunds go back through Google Play to the way you paid.
- After 30 days, packs are not refunded, except where the law requires it. Your items never expire, so nothing is lost.
- Nothing to refund for: a failed read or a skipped product is never charged. You can undo a product added by mistake within 30 minutes, and if ViRey read a product wrongly you can ask it to read it again, free, once, within 30 minutes ("This isn't right").
- One pack at a time: after buying a pack, the next can be bought 30 minutes later. The app says: "You bought a pack a few minutes ago. Please wait 30 minutes before your next purchase."
- If we close your account for any reason other than a breach of these terms, or if we stop providing ViRey, we refund your unused paid items at the price you paid for each.
- Google returns its fee to us on every refund, so we never deduct it from yours.
6.5 Deleting your account with items left
- Before you confirm, we show you how many unused items you have, how many you paid for, and that paid items can be restored for 30 days only by signing in again with the same Google account.
- Packs bought in the last 30 days are refunded when you delete: in full, automatically, if you have not started them; and, as a goodwill gesture, minus the items you used (at the 10-item pack's price per item) if you have — offered before you confirm.
- Other unused items end with your account. Freemium items are never refunded or restored.
- 30 days to come back. For 30 days we keep a scrambled code made from your Google account — not your email or name — and the number of paid items that ended under point 3. If you sign in again with the same Google account within 30 days, the app offers to restore them, in one tap. Items refunded under point 2 are not restored. We cannot restore items to a different Google account or make exceptions, because after deletion we hold nothing else that shows the items were yours.
- After 30 days the code is erased and the items can no longer be restored.
A new account starts with the usual 3 freemium items, whether or not you had an account before.
6.6 Introductory prices
Launch prices are introductory and end on 31 December 2026. New prices apply to packs bought from 1 January 2027. Items you have already bought are not affected.
7. Value estimates
The values ViRey shows are estimates, made by a model from publicly listed second-hand prices in India. They are:
- not an offer — neither we nor anyone else is offering to buy your item through us;
- not a professional valuation;
- not a promise of what you will get if you sell;
- not financial advice.
Some items show a range rather than a single figure; basic items always do. You decide what to sell and at what price.
8. Selling, listings and item pages
- You post it, not us. When you share to OLX, WhatsApp or anywhere else, you are the author and the poster; we never post on your behalf. You are responsible for what you publish and for following the rules of the platform you post to.
- An item page on virey.in shows content you wrote, your first name and locality — never your address, phone number or email.
- Buyers contact you through ViRey, not directly. A buyer fills in a short form; it reaches you in the app, and you decide whether to reply. We do not give your contact details to anyone.
- Your page stays up for 30 days. You can renew it, mark the item sold or take it down at any time. We remind you five days before it ends, and when it ends we ask whether it sold and for how much.
- After it ends, the page shows the item's name, one photo and your locality for another 60 days — no price, and never the price you sold for. For days 31–60 visitors can ask "Is it still available?" — we tell you how many asked, never who, and let them know if you list it again. For days 61–90 they can ask to hear about similar items nearby. If you marked it sold, the page says "Sold" until day 90. After 90 days the item is removed and the link shows "Looking for a [item] near [locality]?".
- You may not list: anything illegal to sell or own; weapons, ammunition or explosives; drugs, medicines or medical devices requiring a prescription; alcohol or tobacco; counterfeit, stolen or recalled goods; live animals or animal parts; vehicles; financial products; personal data or accounts; adult content; or anything else listed in section 5.
- Anyone can report a page from the page itself or by emailing virey@redndad.com. Every report gets an automatic acknowledgement with a ticket number; we deal with it within 7 business days, and remove content within the time the law requires when we receive a lawful order.
- Stay safe. Meet in a public place. Never pay or accept payment in advance. Never scan a QR code or approve a UPI request to receive money — receiving money never needs either.
- ViRey is not a party to any sale and takes no payment for it.
9. What we do not promise
We work to keep ViRey running and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI reading will always be correct, or that an estimate will match what you achieve. Check anything important against the original document, which we keep for you so you can.
10. Our liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with ViRey is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other right the law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in the app or at virey.in/delete (see 6.5). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice where reasonable. If we close an account for fraud or serious or repeated breach of these terms, unused paid items end with it. If we close it for any other reason, we refund unused paid items (6.4).
12. Changes to these terms
These terms live in one place, virey.in/terms, and the app shows the same page. Each version is dated; earlier versions stay available at virey.in/terms. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app at least 15 days before it takes effect; continuing to use ViRey after that means you accept it.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your right to approach a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction.
14. Contact and grievances
